Earlier this year, Matt rolled in with his tough HK GTS Monaro, and wanted to give it a serious upgrade! This car sports a hot 350 Chev and a Tremec 5-speed manual, so the original Borg-Warner diff wasn't cutting it. The retro-fitted VN rear disc brakes were needing an upgrade aswell, as were the original front discs and master cylinder. We're throwing in a Race Products Fabricated 9" braced Housing, floater 35 spline axles, some serious Wilwood brakes all-round, and a fresh exhaust to really amp things up. We're going to shorten the rear end to suit the wider tires so they sit centre in the tubs before welding out the floater hubs and welding in our u-bolt-less spring saddles. Matt requested the housing be clear-coated as he wanted to show off the workmanship of the rear end, so we sent it off to Thermal-Edge Coatings. A Strange Alloy 9" Centre fitted with 3.73 gears and an Eaton Tru-Trac finish it off.

Stainless brake line was created over the housing, using braided flex lines to the calipers. We added our tow hook plates under the factory shock plate so Matt could strap down the car a little easier.

While the diff housing was underway, work started up front with the new hubs and brakes from Wilwood to match the rears, accompanied by a Wilwood Master and proportioning valve.

New stainless brake and fuel lines went in from front to back and side to side to finish off the brake system, all created here in-house.

With the brakes and diff all done, the modified tailshaft went back in and a new 2.5" stainless exhaust was fabricated in-house using stainless Lukey Mufflers and turned down at the diff.

Now she stops as good as she looks and that diff can handle some serious hp, anything Matty can throw at it now and in the future.
